About Paul
Paul Briggs is a semi-retired Electrical Engineer. He is happily married and has 6 children and 5 grandchildren. He currently works part-time as a handyman in Lexington, KY, specializing in electrical repairs. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering (Rice University) and has worked as a contractor for NASA and served in the US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Directorate. Paul came to the Christian faith in the 1980’s. He subsequently struggled to understand what he had “learned” in life and college in light of the Bible and the Christian faith. Paul likes to read and think deeply about science, theology, history of science, philosophy, apologetics, math, history of math, etc. Paul did have the opportunity to teach science at the high school level at a Christian school for a year in the 1999-2000 school year. Paul’s study of the Bible (including Reformed theology) has led him to conclude that Christians need to rethink how to teach science from a distinctly Scriptural perspective. A lot of what is presented as “truth” in both secular and Christian science textbooks (including Christian homeschooling materials) is deficient and does not provide the appropriate background and critique from a Biblical perspective. Paul is finally at a point in his life where he can dedicate some time to this endeavor.
This webpage is intended to help Christians around the world to better understand the issues surrounding science (and math) and provide a framework for understanding and applying science from a Biblical perspective. Paul’s eventual goal is to gather up these materials into a book, but he would rather make them available (and hopefully refine them with reader feedback) along the way.
Paul welcomes feedback, questions, and comments from readers.
